UEFA Champions League Quarter Finals .
Second Leg at Bayern Arena .
Bayern Munich Vs Arsenal .
Wednesday April 17th , 2024 .

Much has been written and said about Gunners Champions league woes and failures , but one thing is clear , football is no mathematics , where 2+2 is always 4, .
As the Gunners face Bayern this night in far away Munich , we may expect surprises after the first leg ended in a 2-2 thriller at the Emirates , with Arsenal escaping defeat by a hairs breath , thanks to substitute , Trossards last minute leveler against the Bavarians in North London

Neither Serge Gnabry nor Harry Kane made the grade in Arsenal colours during their stints in the Gunners academy, but the Bayern duo certainly left their mark on the Emirates soil during a four-goal thriller, which was sparked into life through Bukayo Saka’s fine finish.
However, as the magnitude of the occasion weighed heavily on Arsenal’s inexperienced shoulders, Bayern’s individual quality came to the fore, as Gnabry and Kane both returned to North London with a bang to turn the tide for Thomas Tuchel’s favour on a fairly tedious evening at the Emirates

Today’s encounter is a different 90 minutes challenge as the first leg is now history
The Gunners are almost at full strength for their trip to the Allianz Arena.
Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard are available for Arsenal’s Champions League decider against Bayern Munich tonight.
Odegaard was forced off at the end of Sunday’s defeat to Aston Villa, while Saka has been nursing fitness troubles in recent weeks and often seen limping.
The pair, however, trained with the rest of the Arsenal squad on Tuesday morning and are expected to start against Bayern at the Allianz Arena this night

Arsenal go into the second of their Champions League quarter-final with the tie in the balance after drawing the first leg at Emirates Stadium last week 2-2.
Arteta was forced into an early change at left-back in that game, with left-back Jakub Kiwior hooked at half-time for Oleksandr ZinchenkoThe Ukrainian did well, but during Sunday’s defeat to Aston Villa he showed he is liable to lapses in concentration. Against a team like Bayern, and in an arena like this, Arsenal cannot afford that.
IThat is why Arteta may be tempted to start Takehiro Tomiyasu, who is arguably the best one-on-one defender in the squad, but he has not started a game for Arsenal since December.

For Bayern Munich, absentee crisis also befall the Thomas Tuchel, led side who is definitely without first-choice left-back Alphonso Davies due to suspension; the Canadian was booked for the third time in the tournament in the first leg.
Fellow wide man Gnabry, Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman have also entered the treatment room with injuries of varying severity; the former’s hamstring issue and Coman’s groin problem will render them unavailable, but Tuchel has issued a rallying cry to Sane to grin and bear it on Wednesday.
Sacha Boey (hip), Bouna Sarr (ACL), Tarek Buchmann (hamstring) and Gabriel Marusic (ACL) remain confined to the infirmary as well, but Manuel Neuer – rested for the weekend’s beating of Koln as a precaution – should be fine to guard the posts.
Tuchel and Arteta can share each other’s pain over fresh attacking concerns, as captain Martin Odegaard could not complete the full 90 in the loss to Villa due to an unspecified issue, but he trained on Tuesday and is expected to reprise his regular role here.
Jurrien Timber is a guaranteed absentee as he continues his recuperation from his devastating ACL injury, but there is hope that the Dutchman will make his long-awaited comeback in May, and Arteta could still opt for a change in the full-back areas..

We pray for the Gunners to wipe away their remaining Champions league **CURSE ** with an emphatic win or qualification to the next stage which is the semis , at the expense of the Bavarians , though it seems impossible on paper but on the field of play its possible . Chelsea did it against Bayern when they won their first ever champions league cup at same Bayern Arena in 20 12 though via a penalty shoot out after a draw , it’s still very much possible for Arsenal to repeat same feat against the German giants and former Bundesliga champions who were recently dethroned from their title in Germany b the shaeer effort of Xavi Alonso s football coaching prowess who single hardly guided Bayern Leverkusen to the this years Bundesliga title with an 11 point gap against Bayern Munich with an emphatic 5-0 drubbing of Werder Bremen , the border town to the Netherlands , while Bayern s 2- 0 later was made ineffective .

For the most part, Bayern boss Tuchel oversaw a tactical masterclass in last week’s first leg, where the Bavarians’ centre-backs, midfielders and wingers all terrorised an Arsenal side evidently lacking experience of such a momentous European occasion.
While Arteta’s men are usually defensive powerhouses on the road, their lack of ruthlessness and second-half capitulation versus Villa was worrying, and with Bayern working with an extra day’s rest, we expect the Gunners to wake up from their Champions League dream, if they are to go beyond the quarter finals . A very harsh and tedious evening in Bavaria.

Predictions ( Bayern 2-1 Arsenal @ Over 1.5 goals . or 2-2 with extra time and penalty shootout at the end of hostilities .

Happy Viewing and Happy Mid Week and Humps day that’s Wednesday .
